As a Laboratory Technician, Federal VET Diploma I have my roots in chemistry. During my undergraduate studies at the University of Bern I had my first field trip in the rainforests of Borneo. Since a small boy I am drawn to the tropics. I took my shot and went to Brazil for my Master’s degree in Zoology at Universidade de São Paulo. There I focused on mass spectrometry analysis of alkaloids in poison frogs — an investigation that combined chemistry and biology in a beautiful way. The foundation for a career in chemical ecology has been laid.

I always loved video- and photography, and did everything to pursue this hobby. Therefore, during my time in Brazil, I dedicated myself to fieldwork in diverse Brazilian ecosystems, from the Amazon Rainforest to the Atlantic Rainforest, Cerrado and Pantanal. This particular experiences have not only refined my abilities in biological investigation but also in photo- and videography. I create reels, and scientific videos at a professional level using high-end equipment. My work aims to bridge the gap between scientific research and public engagement, making complex scientific insights accessible and engaging through visual storytelling.
